Goan Ambot Tik
Ambot Tik! A hot, spicy and tangy goan specialty made with mori (shark fish) king fish, pomfret, shrimp or squids. I have however used mori. This yumlecious goan specialty is best enjoyed along with hot steamed rice!

Ingredients:- 2 lbs mori / shark fish
1 medium onion finely sliced
2 medium tomatoes finely sliced
6/8 bindi solam
Salt per taste
3/4 green chilies
Vinegar as required
Ingredients for Masala:- 1 tsp cumin seeds
6 garlic cloves
1/2 inch ginger piece
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
4 tbsp vinegar
a pinch of sugar
Direction:-
Wash and clean the fish, apply salt and keep aside. Grind spices listed under masala to a fine paste adding water as required and keep aside. In a wok, add 3 tbsp oil, add sliced onions and fry till translucent adding tomatoes and cook till soft.
Add ground masala and fry, thereafter add the fish and bindi solam. Cook for approx 2/3 minutes adding water as required. Cover and cook till fish is done add salt as required.
Serve boiled rice!
